Athens Wine Tasting

Mesogeia is the most noted wine growing region of Attica. The rural communities of Spata, Paiania, Koropi, Markopoulo, Pallini, Pikermi are some of the wine-producing sites in Mesogeia. There are more than 20 wineries in the Mesogeia where the makers are dedicated to the production of high quality wines. The area is known for the cultivation of the noted local Savatiano grape variety, which produces a fresh, light dry white wine with a fruity flavour and has a crystal clear colour.

Visit the winery of A. Megapanos, which is situated in Pikermi, in the heart of the Mesogeia. There, you will have the opportunity to view the winemaking and bottling facilities as well as the cellars and the laboratory. The Winery’s philosophy and aim is to produce wines of excellent quality from renowned wine producing areas of Greece and in particular of Attica. Once the tour is over you will be offered a tasting of 6 wines.

If you wish, you can combine your visit to the winery with a visit to the Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, or a tour of Lavrio Town, or Attica Zoological Park, or have lunch in a tavern in the surrounding area.

You can even visit the winery on your way to/from Athens International Airport.
