Multiactivity Trip in Meteora |

Meteora is a unique and very spectacular location in central Greece. The impressive rock formations have made the place the "mecca" of rock climbers ; in combination to the monasteries built on these rocks, Meteora is a region worthwhile visiting and exploring. Our program combines culture and action, starting in Athens.
Day 1: Arrival AthensArrival in Athens International airport. Transfer on your own to Athens city centre (either by metro or bus or taxi). O/N Athens
Day 2: KalambakaTransfer from your hotel by taxi to the train station in Athens. Travel to Kalambaka by train. (Train to kalambaka: Departure 08:21- Arrival 13:00) Transfer to your hotel and a first short walk in kalambaka and kastraki O/N Kalambaka Day 3: Walk, monastery visit and abseilingFollow a trail amongst the striking rocks of Meteora that was used by the monks in the past. Visit 2 of the most important monasteries, Varlaam and Megalo Meteoro. At the end enjoy a rappel of 20 m height at the rock of Dupiani. O/N Kalambaka Day 4: Rock ClimbingThe natural setting of Meteora has become a renowned international venue for rock climbing with routes of various degrees of difficulty. Trekking Hellas provides all necessary equipment and experienced rock-climbing guides for beginners and experienced rock climbers. The climbing is top rope in sand stone on a rock of 25m height. For beginners the climbing session lasts 1,5 hours, followed by a seminar O/N Kalambaka Day 5: Rock climbing in the morning and return to AthensSpend another morning rock climbing. The climbing is sport climbing in sand stone on a rock of 60m height. The session lasts 3 hours Transfer to train station. Take the train to Athens. Transfer to hotel in Athens. (Train to Athens: Departure 17:30 – Arrival at 22:10) O/N Athens Day 6: AthensFree day: Spend the day exploring Athens. Visit the Acropolis and New Acropolis Museum. Walk through the Agora and the area of Anafiotika in Plaka, the old area of Athens. Continue to Syntagma, Tomb of the Unknown soldier and watch the changing of the guards. Then walk down to the area of the temple of Zeus and Hadrian Arch and the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. O/N Athens Day 7: DepartureTransfer on your own to Athens International airport.
